Tomate de árbol (aka Tamarillo)

Another week, another new fruit…
Mainly used in juices (have yet to try that!), but also consumed raw. I only ate the inside, spooned it out like you would eat an avocado or a kiwi (if you use a spoon…), since the skin tasted bitter. The fruit itself was tomato-ish tasting, but sweeter — at least to my tastebuds.

Based on the description:, it’s a great source for vitamins while great tasting — I’m sensing another purchase coming on…once we have eaten all the uchuvas and the one other new fruit still waiting to be eaten (and for a blog post, por supuesto!)
