Well, we just said goodbye to the McGukin family. Liza and Dave along with their sons Colin and Griffin are leaving CTG after a two year tour. Dave was a classmate of Anthony’s, they met in February 2004 and have been friends ever since. We were fortunate to attend their wedding in May 2005 and visit them here in CTG in July 2013. Dave was instrumental during the selection process and Liza always available for me if and when is had questions regarding the move. Liza also speaks Spanish fluently and again, always available to assist.
Well, they’re off to New Hampshire via Bogotá on Tuesday. We are very sad to see them go, but also thrilled that they were able to return to the USA, near Dave’s family. Goodbyes are bittersweet, in my case, tearful. I don’t do goodbyes well. But I’m holding on to the memories made, know there will be more to be made…I’m thankful for all the four of them have dine for us, so having them over for dinner tonight was a perfect way to celebrate friendships as well as say thank you for their support.
Travel well, my friends — CTG loses a great family while NH wins a great couple and two adorable boys. ¡Hasta luego — nos vemos!
